Design Philosophy
Gorsline Design arose from a lifelong pursuit of aesthetically pleasing - but highly practical - living spaces. Combining a love of characterful objects with a need for organization to suit modern living, Gorsline Design aspires to create beautiful spaces that reflect and support you.
Personal Statement
As a former archaeologist, I have always been interested in how our spaces and our things tell our story. Humans are natural collectors and storytellers: we are drawn to beauty in its many forms, and we bring it into our homes to remind us of our experiences and our aspirations, of who we are and who we want to be. Now as an interior designer, my goal is to help you shape your space into a place that tells your story, that shows who you are and supports you in your life.
My philosophy is simple: interiors should be functional and they should be beautiful. What this looks like is as unique as your needs and style; what unites us is that we all live (and, for many, work) in the same space, day in and day out. That our spaces support us - both directly, by being a place where we can easily get done what we need to do, and indirectly, by being a place that gives us the feelings of comfort, respite, or inspiration that we crave - is imperative.
I truly believe that every space can achieve this balance of function and beauty. If you’re interested in how Gorsline Design can help mold your space to reflect your personality and support your life, please get in touch with me at hello@gorsline.design.
